Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bogotá
Here we go, people. Time to brush up on that Spanish, prep all five of your senses, and board your flight to Bogotá, Colombia.
- Land at the airport and meet a waiting EF representative.
- Transfer to your hotel, check out your room, and start to meet your fellow travelers as they arrive.
- Settle in for the night and get ready for a full day in Bogotá tomorrow.
Day 2: Explore Bogotá + Welcome Dinner
Venture out into Bogotá, the third-highest capital city in the world (8,660 ft above sea level). Which makes sense when you realize you’re actually chillin’ in the Andes mountains. One look at the city’s architecture reveals that Bogotá is new and old. It’s lively and peaceful, a true microcosm of Colombia and one of South America’s greatest urban destinations.
In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner of local cuisine and drinks with fellow travelers at an authentic local spot. Afterwards, you’re free to take the party elsewhere!
- Join your Tour Director on a tour of La Candelaria, Bogotá’s historic quarter.
- Feast your eyes on the impressive array of (legal) street art and then walk through Bogotá’s (also legal) main square, Plaza Bolívar.
- Get familiar with the area around your hotel with an introductory walk with your Tour Director.
- Take the funicular up to Monserrate, a hill that overlooks the city, and enjoy some free time with a side of views.
Museo del Oro: Have you ever wanted to see 55,000 pieces of gold in one place? It’s your lucky day, because Bogotá’s most popular museum can provide exactly that. It’s not as good as gold. It’s better.
Azahar Café: Colombian coffee is considered some of the best on the globe, supplying 15% of the world’s coffee. You’ve most likely tried Colombian coffee…but have you ever tried it in Colombia? Now’s your chance.

My review is a bit overdue but I felt like I had to share. Colombia is such a dream. It’s not as dangerous as what people claim it to be. Everyday was an adventure and it was magical. There’s SO much to do, everything is so cheap. Our TD was Olli. I got sick during the beginning...
Caro (the TD) was the best! She goes above and beyond for her groups. Loved learning about the culture and free time to shop. Cartagena was my favorite, with beautiful beaches and art. Medellín was my second favorite with more lively nightlife and bars.
This tour was amazing, it was nice to see Colombia through the eyes of Colombians and not what we often hear and have heard in American media. The country is beautiful, the tour was extraordinary. Carolina our tour guide was one of the best tour guides we have ever had(she...
Colombia is more beautiful and impressive than I could have ever imagined. Our tour director, Carolina, made this trip the best. She went above and beyond to make sure we all felt safe and comfortable and had the best experience possible. This trip is packed with activities and...
I love reading reviews- I had hesitation with booking Colombia due to it’s past; I am happy to say that those are old reputations and don’t apply to the Colombia of today. I felt safe, always, and the local tour guides gave crucial information to ensure we were prepared for...
Colombia with Carolina was fantastic! We couldn't have asked for a better guide. I fell in love with Medellin in particular, and all of the extras were so much fun. The only thing I might change is shifting the hike from Chicaque to somewhere more open and well-known like...
