Itinerary

Day 1: Overnight Flight
Board your overnight flight to Italy—your gateway to unforgettable experiences and flavors. Get ready to indulge in the rich culinary delights of Italy: from perfectly crisp pizza and fresh pasta to creamy gelato, decadent cannoli, and a glass of limoncello. It’s a food lover’s dream, and you’re about to savor every bite.
Day 2: Arrive in Venice + Welcome Dinner
Welcome to Venice! Built on 118 islands, intersected by 175 canals and spanned by more than 400 bridges, this city has inspired more praise from travelers, writers, and artists than any other in the world.
In the evening, it’s time for our Welcome Dinner. Every great trip deserves a great beginning—and that’s exactly what this event delivers. Hosted by your new bestie, your Tour Director. This kickoff moment is all about meeting your fellow travelers, learning their names, swapping stories, and easing into the adventure ahead. It’s casual, fun, and the first step in turning a group of strangers into something more. At EF Ultimate Break, we believe memories are best made together.
- Arrive at the airport—your Tour Director will be waiting to help you get settled and navigate the city.
- Venture into Venice proper or explore the area around your accommodation.
- Head to classic spots like St. Mark’s Square or the Rialto Bridge in the evening—no crowds, just magic.
- Learn about andar per bacari, the local pastime of going from bacaro to bacaro (wine bar), enjoying inexpensive local wines and prosecco in the company of friends and strangers, while savoring Venetian tapas—cicchetti [chee-KEHT-tee].
Ask your Tour Director:
- When to visit the local markets—The most famous, the Rialto Mercato, is right on the Grand Canal and open six days a week.
- Where to buy locally made souvenirs that support the community, local producers, and the Veneto region.
- When to go to the famed bookstore, Libreria Acqua Alta, just a few minutes from St. Mark’s Square—a unique, chaotic spot beloved in the heart of Venice.
- For the perfect time and spot to arrange a gondola ride (extra cost).
- If you can row a gondola—it’s possible, thanks to a unique partnership with Row Venice (extra cost, see Venice FAQ).
- How to visit a fourth-generation winery in the Veneto region, a favorite of our travelers for more than a decade (extra cost).
- How to beat the lines and get inside St. Mark’s Basilica to see 900 years of Venetian art and history (extra cost).
- How to visit colorful Burano for a picture-perfect afternoon and lunch (extra cost).
- How to reach one of the city’s famed viewpoints, like the campanile of San Giorgio Maggiore, for iconic photos of St. Mark’s or the Grand Canal (extra cost).

It’s a jam-packed itinerary, but that’s only because there’s so much to see and do! I felt like the organization of the cities could’ve been re-ordered so we were exhausted in Venice rather than in Rome, but other than that, I had an amazing time! Our tour guide Gia was...
